Planning to get a Penn Sargus 8000 soon for shark fishing in the surf for sharks up to 6ft, will load it with 300yds of 40lb power pro and finish it with 40lb mono. How do you think it will do for sharks up to 6ft?

Whats The Drag Ratio? Sounds Kinda Small Even For 6ft'ors. Unless you Have a Way To Chase Them. ie Swim Bouys etc.

The wife had one and loved that thing. I spooled ours with a crapload of 65lb power pro. Did very well on a 6.5ft Tipper. (That was the biggest thing hooked on it.) Thought I was gonna be spooled but I turned it, then it went right and I could feel the line running across a crab trap rope and watched a crab trap buoy being dragged the same direction (looked like the scene from Jaws with the barrels!) so I cranked down the drag tighter. That just pissed it off and it ran fast as hell again and i watched the buoy go under. Figured I was screwed then the buoy popped up really fast and the line was free. I was surprised as hell, the braid cut off the crab trap rope! But all in all the reel functioned flawlessly. I really like that reel.
