Hey everyone I go down to fort Myers about 5 times a year and I'm going down there June 8th- the 15th. I'm just checking up on how has the shark fishing has been and where the hotspots are this month. Also have cownoses been on the fort Myers beach and grouping up. Are there any other places they are? Thx
I heard the cownose rays are still in the area and the shark fishing close to the Red Coconut Rv Resort has been very productive,,just dont piss off the local cops.Good luck.

Yeah the local cops are not the nicest I have run across but there are some good anglers out here. Sadly my lines have been dry for about a year now.
Cops are not that bad. They show up every now and again. People are worried that we are stealing turtle eggs etc. They show up and we say - does this look like we are fishing for turtles? They usually laugh One watched us bring in a shark last year. He was really interested. Just don't make a lot of noise, shine your flashlights on houses RV's condo's etc and pick up your crap and keep the beers low. That's a busy part of the beach and the people are really close to the beach at that section.
Fishing should be ok as long as the Red Tide doesn't drift in. I have heard that it is having an effect - dead fish sea weed etc. I have not been there in a few weeks but will be there next week, so I cannot comment on the Cownose. They have been scarce along the beach. Jason will be none too happy about the Red Coconut mention. Make sure you don't get chased of the beach by a guy in a cowboy hat.
