Fishing Pompano Beach and Surrounding Areas

Headed to Pompano Beach the end of this month to fish the extreme kayak tournament, this will be my first time fishing the east coast, all my fishing is done on the panhandle. While I was down I wanted to do some shark fishing off the beach, is this allowed in Pompano beach, I know there's some places on the east coast that do not allow it from the beach. If so, any recommendations on places to stay on the beach that are not to crowded to fish or places to paddle out a bait without 1000 people around, we were looking to stay at the Ebb Tide resort and fishing from there. Any info would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Jason

Shark fishing is allowed in the area but to do it from the beach you must do it at night when there are no people on the beach. Also something to keep in mind this time of year there are turtles nesting and the people who monitor their nests can be extremely annoying about using any lights on the beach. If you're staying at a hotel on the beach you can fish from there on night but if you need to drive to the beach finding parking can be a challenge because most of it closes at 11pm.
