Fin Nor Santiago
Who on here has experience with this fantastic line of reels?
These are the best reels in my opinion but are frequently overlooked. They are completely watertight which means sand cannot get into the reel. That is the main problem with fishing on the beach, sand getting in your reel which is why most guys default back to senators. Santiago's are in my opinion the best reel on the market. There 80w reel holds 1000yds of 80 and has a max drag of 100lbs(same as a Makaira) where there reel stands apart from any other in my opinion is in their 130. This reel is truely the best big game reel on the market; it holds 1200yds!!!! of 130lb mono(200 more than Internationals and Tiagras) and can put out 110lbs of drag at a max, while still maintaining complete free spool. Another reason there reels are so great is that there drag is multilayered with a massive stainless steel drag plate as well as twin carbon fiber discs. The combination of these two allows for an unreal amount of smoothness which is kept in line because the drag is designed to have nearly immediate heat dissipation, so when your hooked into that monster hammerhead or tiger and its rippin' you and youre pushing +70lbs of drag the reel stays cool and works flawlessly even under all of that strain. I really encourage you guys to try out one of these reels, they really are something else and from my experience I really could see this reel becoming the face of Land Based Shark Fishing.
