The 900h has an aluminum frame, spool, and sideplates. I thought they were plastic so i did some research.
Took Apart Both Reels With Help Of Penn Diagrams On Line,No.8 5 Totally Different Only Thing Made With Metal Are The Gears, Everything Else Is Hard Plastic Or Grafite, Jigmaster All Chrome Hpoing The Problem With The Reel Lock Is The Little Coil Pin That Engages The Lock, Other Than That They Just Dont Make Them Like They Use To

The New Ones I Wouldnt, But The One I Have That Was Built Back In The 50's Sure. As A Matter Of Fact When You Look For Jigmasters On Penn Diagrams Its Listed As Penn Jigmaster 500-A. Mine's Is A Original Penn Jigmaster No. 500

My 209 i bought off ebay was not made in america, but i have not broke it. Have hooked quite a few good blacktips, stingrays, etc.
