braided line
Its all subjective really. For spinning rods I am biased to braids that dont wind knot or if they do it comes out (IE powerpro knots up and wont come out but spiderwire ultracast comes out easily). Here is a testing page of a bunch of braids for line strength:

People rave over Suffix 832 for 80lb and under. Jerry brown for hollowcores 60lb and up (price and quality). And Tuf-line gets great reviews from everyone that uses it (that I have found for opinions) including their XP solidcore line and Guides choice hollow core line.
if ur going for sharks around 50lbs, 30lb BBg would be good. tho u want atleast 50lb stuff on a 3/0 or bigger in case u run into somethin bigger (specially yakking baits out). if ur casting spinning rods, 30lb should do u good. PP and sufix r the only other braids ive ever used, and both them work great too, but ive yet to have a problem with 30lb bbg on my spinning setups
