braid
braid might be more line but on the reefs it sucks against frays and its hard to tie knots with if you are in a hurry like tying in to a new reel, and it cuts into your spool unless you get it packed real tight. and theres the levelwindiing it burns your fingers but thats the least of your problems when fighting a big shark

I personally use 100 lb pp and 150 pp and never have had a problem with frays I love it and have had 2 Tarpon over 100lbs wrap me around a piling and pulled them back out and had a 33 in snook wrap me around the pilings several diffrent times a few months ago on 20 lb PP and then only thing frayed was the 30lb leader and still released them with no frays from the pilings on the PP I have 950yds of 150 PP on my 9/0 with backing so i have over 1000 yds of line on it and I also have a Shimano Triton Trolling series 50 with 200 yds of 80 lb backing and 700 yds of 100 PP but it was not a full spool of line when they spooled it up they ran out of 100 on the bulk spool so instead of them taking it all off and getting a new spool they gave me a discount on the 100lb pp I have landed 2 Goliath Grouper 1 about 250 and the other one around the 400lb range and a quite a few sharks over 8 ft with no probs but that could also be the diffrence between the west coast from the east coast as the gulf dont have many reefs close to shore I have PP on all my reels

i got 200lb pp on my 12/0 and and i got 1500 yards on there and ill tell you what its fun with braid makeing those tippers come out of the water with my newell it has 100lb pp on it

beleave it or not you can have almost as much mono on your 12/0
.but its not going to be no 200 hundred pound test .i fish 80 on my 12 an it holds around 1300 hundred atleast thats what the line counter at bass pro says
an you really cant say its not enough to fight a big fish because i watched a guy a few years back catch a 14 ft hammer on dania pier with it .so you dont need braid if you ask me
