This 1297 lb 14 ft 2 inch Tiger shark was caught on the Helen C charter boat out of the Castaway Docks in 1978.The massive shark had a girth of 88 inches was caught on a 12/0 Penn Senator spooled with 130 lb test.It took the angler four and half hours to reel in the monster Tiger. It was caught out of Haulover inlet fishing a whole bonita on a coat hanger cannon ball weight rig.The Captain was Jay Burke and the first mate was Tony Defelice.The shark was weighed on a truck scale and the mounted shark was delivered to a Michigan Ford dealership the angler owned at the time .
