Rene's hammerhead was caught in 1974 was 14 foot and was caught on two reels,a 9/0 dumped and tied into a 12/0.They battled it for 4 hours and landed it 3 blocks north of the south beach pier.Many 12 and 13 footers have been landed but from land this hammer is one of the biggest ever from a Florida shoreline.

Wow.I remember that shark all tho i was not on the pier when he caught it my friend called me to say Rene had broke the hammer record then i saw it in the miami harald.
