Great White Off the Bear Cut Bridge
I was talking to a proffesor at RSMAS about fishing off the dock and he told me that when he first became a proffesor at UM in the 80's one of the proffessors pulled him into her office and showed him a pictures and documentation of a Great White Shark being captured off of the Bear Cut Bridge some years before. They must have need some heavy fishing line to stop that thing! I am going to try and get a hold of those pictures.

Yea i told some grad students who worked on a mutton snapper spawning project in the tortugas not so long ago and they said that they were watching footage from underwater cameras in the tortuga's and all of a sudden this huge great white swims by the camera. They said that some fisherman spotted the same fish off of islamorada a few days later. I think that they swim up our coast while migrating just not in great numbers which is why we rarely catch them here.
