trusty 6/0 stays hot-dock fishing report

went out with the team to catch bait and snook fish at a dock we like to fish. the mullet were everywhere and the tide was high so we took the kayak off the truck and brought the 6/0s out to kayak a bait into the channel, to maybe get a bull or something. scott showed me his little technique for getting mullet that cruise real close to the sea wall by grabbing their heads real quick. so i tried it and got a nice big mullet and kayaked it out. scott caught a huge catfish and caleb used the tail on his 6/0 and kayaked it out. afterf an hour calebs 6/0 started screaming and we saw an explosion out in the water, but the fish just threw the bait. a half an hour goes by and mine starts screaming, scott heard it before anyone even knew and started running and hooked the fish, he handed it off to me and the fish starts dumping line and jumping like crazy, after fighting the fish for a while it starts pulling around a sign and i cant turn it in time so i put my reel in free spool and hop in the kayak. after fighting the tarpon for about 7 minutes on the kayak i manage to pull up to another dock and we land it. the tarpon had to be pulled up on the dock because it was foul hooked in the tail and we didnt want to unhook a thrashing tarpon with a stinger rig in its tail leaning over the side of a dock. i revived it on the kayak by dragging it around and forcing water through its gills and it swam off fine. :D

other than the tarpon we loaded up on nice snapper and ladyfish and hooked into some snook.
i had no idea the tarpon were so thick out there i wouldnt have used #15 wire and j hooks if i knew.

Where in Florida do you guys fish? I'm not asking for spots, just like county wise.
