Went to the pier today to get some bait for a shark trip. Got a couple bonita and a nice jack and was ready to call it a day.
Hammer hooked up on a nice tarpon and the fight was on. Took some nice jumps close to the pier and was an up and down battle for the next 30 minutes. The fish took another nice jump and headed offshore. Took Hammer almost down to knot before she turned. Hammer passed the rod off the pier so we could beach it. Unfortunately we ruined a couple's good time in the water on the empty beach. Passed the rod back to Hammer to finish fight. Went out to grab tarpon and saw a blacktip a couple feet away and got out of water and tarpon was beached. Total fight time was around 2.5 hours. Tarpon measured 6'5" and we guess around 100 pounds. Gonna make some good baits (or one really great one

Damn, lakeworth pier, home to the big everything fish, a lot of times the pier is dead but all the fish that are caught off that pier are monsters, that's a nice tarpon but i think i got you beat partner
