With the cold front coming in would it be worth it to go out saturday morning? I would most likely be fishing satellite beach area due to im from orlando. Unless someone has a better general area they think would be better at this time?

So I ended up going out saturday night and got three bites that the fish just dropped. The first one I tried setting the hook pretty much as soon as it grabbed it and then the line just went slack. The second one I waited till it stopped running and then as soon as it started again I tried setting it and again it went slack. The third time I decided to wait a little longer and after a solid 5 second run without me touching the rod, it went slack. I was using a bonita head with the hook up through the upper lip. Is there anything I should be doing differently(setting the hook, hook placement on the bait, size bait etc.) I was using a circle hook btw.

Not with your circle hooks! Just engage the reel and let the fish pick up the slack and come tight. Not sure how big your bonitas are, but maybe they are too big if you are getting hit by smallish sandbar sharks or blacktips.

Thanks for the info. Yea Ill try a smaller bait and I think last time I was putting the hook too deep into the bait.

If you're using offset circle's the running man works great however with in line circles I don't recommend it. Try letting it eat the bait longer. I usually wait until I feel the shark swallow the bait (up to 2 mins) unless its a hammer and its ripping line like none other.
