I'm trying to see wat everyone's opinion is on their knots they use snd how reliable they are. I've been reading around and wat I can see is using a double line braid to mono connection is always stronger also saw that the two strongest knots that were tested were the Bristol knot and the modified fg knot. Now seeing that the fg was wayyyyyy harder to tie I'm thinking a Bristol which was 100% strength and took undet a minute to tie has to be popular..I personally have been using a regular fg (sebile knot which was tested at 65% strength is the best single line connection but am gonna start using modified bristol now due to studies ....what do y'all think???

I used to use uni uni, but I was showed the Improved Bristol and I use that now. Very small knot and we've tugged on it with 80-130 and didn't budge.

just make you yank it as youre tightening the knot down, and if done correctly, the tag end should be 90 degrees from the knot

Ya I've been practicing and watched multiple videos they all said the same on the.modified since its seven up and seven down that you gotta yank it while pulling tight and tag has to be 90° if done right

I used to use bimini to reverse albright, but now for light tackle i go sebile knot and for big tackle i use bimini to sebile.
I don't have any rod with rollers to clear big knots, so, thous works best for me.

I use a 10-12 foot piece of hollow core. No knot! I connect 130 solid braid to 130lb mono with a piece of 130lb hollow core. Its the smallest strongest splice you can do.

I double the 130lb solid braid back on itself then using a latch needle pull it up in the piece of hollow about 6 foot. then I use a hollow 150lb needle to pull the 130lb mono up in the hollow 6 foot. Serve the tag ends of the hollow and your done. Never even feel the splice going thru guides. I have never had it fail.

What hes talking about is a good system - this guy fishes close to double the drag that most others fish as well so if it was going to fail he would be the one to make it happen - good stuff CJ.

Thats new to me. I'll have to try that. Can you give more details about what brand and model line you use?
