What is the best knot for monofilament line of 50lb test and above?

I use an improved clinch with 5 wraps up to 65lb, 4 wraps for 65-80lb and 3-4 over that, never had a knot failure yet

My preference for heavy Mono is a Uni knot, never had this fail on me. I stay away from the Clinch knot, or any knot that can strangle the mainline.

I like the uni but personally fun it difficult to cinch it down tight with thick line without creating a small loop, then if I pull the loop out the line under it is crushed. But that's just my personal experience, I know a lot of guys like the uni for heavy mono

I use the uni knot mostly but it seems to not work as good for 60lb monofilament while fishing in the keys bridges for permit and sharks.I am going to give the improved clinch knot a try.

ya i've always used the Uni up to 100lb. its really hard to tighten the knot, but when you do, i've never had one slip!

In order from weakest to strongest, uni, rapala, bimini with cats paw.

Just an average fisherman.
