Well I'm getting a 12 0 or 14 0 soon and the #26 plastic reel seat is coming off.
I don't trust plastic to hold my 12 0 or 14 0.
The butt is around 20-22inches I'm going to extend it to 30 inches.
I'm not going to put a #26 reel seat on it because I would have to take all the guides off and back on it would cost me around $80 to do that.
What do you guys think.
I used to have a 9 0 on this rod and with 80lb test it doesn't bend to much.
The line used to touch the blank, I just added 2 more guides and fixed that problem.
I'm sure this rod could handle a 12 0 with 100-125 mono just fine.
The 9 0 just doesn't cut it for this rod.
buy a varmac rs6 off ebay, it will be a quick and easy fix, you don't have to rewrap your rod and it will be a 2 piece rod then also, makes it much easier to travel with a big reel on it

My First Rod Was Simular Except It Had Wood Where The Grip Would Be
Also Only Had One Aftco Roller Tip At The Top Of The Rod, But That Rod Was SOLID ALL THE WAY

So, I just got the rod back and she's 10ft + now
I'll have to get the length on it sometime.
Oh, and for the people that have seen this rod, look what came out of it.
Andy at X-Gen cut some of the blank off and got this out for me.
This thing is close to 1lb.
Harnell cut about 4 inches from the bottom then added about 10inches for the butt ext.
John aka Rippinlipsoff gave me a spool of 130lb mono so that and the 12 0
will be on this rod for x-mas.
