So I just respooled my 14/0 cause the guy I bought it from said he put 5000 yards of 150LB power pro haha. I yaked out a bait last night found it there was no 5000 yards of braid there was 80lb mono underneath the braid then underneath that was 60lb so yeah 5000 yards my butt. My question is I just spend $250 on line today:( I put 600 yards of 150LB ohero braid and 550 yards of 130LB momoi clear mono. I'm probably doing 500 yard drops so I'm worried a shark will take that 600 yards of line like nothing

I do a similar setup for my 12/0, where you need that extra yardage. On my 14/0 - I filled the sucker up with straight 100lb bullbuster mono. Which should give me 1100 - 1200 yards. We do 3-450 yards drops. You should be able to bring anything in the sea under 13 feet in. You get a 15 footer, you are toast anyway.
We use a long 300lb shock leader for abrasion. I worry about packing on the braid on such a big reel. I got a big one on my 12/0 and when I got into the braid it started sinking into spool- got fouled up.
