C-Fro: Thx man, and I do indeed dabble in the art of lifting metal repetitively ha ha

Tunastick: Yeah they are close, but the 80-130 Has a much better bend and it's A LOT lighter

Nice build,,,,,,better hit the gym to get gimbaled up with that cannon!!It will feel top heavy and leverage will not be on your side.
I'm 5 ft 11 225 lbs and I choose the sand when fighting with my Gator on the 16/0 but I guess if your back, shoulders and arms are strong enough to take the strain-DO IT!!

just curious, what reels are you going to match with the 80-130 and the 50-80? I am starting to lean toward the 50-80, it looks like it would still be plenty strong enough for fishing a 80 off of

I'm putting a 14/0 on the 80-130 and an Avet Pro Ex 50 on the 50-80. I don't think it's enough stick for an 80

I'm gonna build on the 80-130 for my avet 80 for bridges in the summer. I liked the blank way more than the unlimited. It had bend, but still more than enough backbone.

I may have to look at a different long stick then, none of the 80's that I have had would fit on a #6 reel seat unless the bolts that hold the clamp are changed out, which is something I may have to look into, and in fact an Accurate 130 that I had would did not have long enough bolts either. I fished it on a rod with a #4 seat just like the various 80's I have used

TS: A 4 might fit the 80-130, I just went with a number 6 because I'm throwing a 14/0 on it and I like the seat lower on the blank than most, and I don't have the option to go check out the merch since I had the blanks and seats shipped to Houston.

Joe: I think the 80-130 was $160-170 ish

One of those would look really good. I didn't know how to do a decorative wrap for the butt, so I just put a hammerhead decal.

Maybe have 2 bands of gold with the decal in the middle? Just an idea.

Looks great and that rod/reel should get you anything that can be caught.
