big spinning reels

what are some big spinning reels that can land a decent sized shark? i never got to find out what my friend had but i caught my fist shark on it and it was a fun fight. any ideas on what to get?

if you are talking about 6-7' range or so the Fin Nor offshore series 095 spinning reels are getting fairly popular for cast bait fishing for sharks.

yea found the fin nors and was thinking about getting one. but i am having probs finding a good rod i was never good at telling them all apart and having one that wont snap in half on the big shark.

go with the 10 ft ocean masters from bass pro trust me those rods are great an if one dose bereak jus bring it right back

the rod will run you like a hundred bucks but that aint all that bad

na they are 2 peace rods but its not that big of a deal i bought one for when i go pompano fishing never had a problem with it

As for Spinning Reels for Shark fishing, you can't beat the Penn 9500, they're tough and there are alot of Tackle shops that'll work on them, as well as most parts are available for them. I agree alot of people have been using and like the Fin Nor 9500, large spool cap and similar price range to the Penn. I'll stick with the Penns though.

LOL, If you can afford it the Van Stall VS 300 would be on the top of the list or a Stella 20000, but they're really way too pretty to take out on the beach.

Hard to swallow putting out that 'kinda coin for a Spinning Reel when you could easily pick up a Penn International 80 VSW for what one would pay for a VS 300, Stella, Sargasso etc.
