Official 2017 Big Hammer Challenge Reports,Pics- Leaderboard

Every year I have the very difficult task of weeding through a bunch of pictures of sharks caught in the BHC by anglers competing .I am impartial and fair to all without taking sides regarless of affiliation-being tournament administrator gets no easier at any time. This year again we have sharks that are not being measured correctly. When Hammerhead sharks are involved the picture taking becomes even more tricky because they have to be LEFT WITH THE HEAD IN THE WATER AND QUICKLY RELEASED so getting great pictures becomes a bit more difficult. Some some anglers are not holding the measuring tape in a straight line to get the Overall Picture as required by BHC Rules.
If you are fishing a spot with calm water and have a fairly calm shark taking good pictures is usually a much easier versus getting good pics while the waves are crashing all around. Other anglers are posting Overall pics shorter than the tail pic but calling it the longer length- and that will not fly, and I will correct the measurement because when my wife is making that week's Leader-board she calls me into her office and shows me a shark 2-4 inches over what we see in the overall pic-PLEASE DON'T DO THAT!! . These measuring tapes that we have designed and perfected over the years are colored at every foot mark for a good reason-and that is to 'CLEARLY SEE WHERE THE SHARKS TAIL ENDS'.If in the Overall Pic the shark clearly shows a 8 foot 5 inch -don't post it as an 8 foot 8 inch shark. Some posted sharks have multiple problems such as the tape being used completely wrong, the tape not visible at the tip of the shark's snout and the tail not clearly visible because it's behind the measuring tape. Some will be corrected ,some may be clarified if possible ,while other sharks will be completely Disqualified for too many multiple violations of Rules. If anyone wants to file a Formal Complaint please read the procedure and feel free to do so and we will bring it before the BHC Committee for a vote. Thank you.
