Hard luck - Franks's first land based shark is a 8ft 11in bull caught during the BHC and his 3rd teammate with the camera, secret item and placard did not show up. Frank gets pulled over when his tail man was heading to the water. His only teammate on the beach helps him up and gets hit just above the eye with the aftco unibutt landing him a gash/knot to the forehead. Only photos taken of this big bull were by a young girl on the beach that would not go in the water. Thats tough luck.

With a reduced field of anglers fishing in the 2017 BHC compared to the 2015 BHC more sharks have been caught per Team than in any other previous BHC tourney. I am impressed with the hard work and dedication by the teams still out there trying to crash the party of the number one land-based shark hunter on the planet at this time Mr Dan Tabatabai. Dan still has the Lead but the extreme competitive nature of the anglers participating in this tournament leaves us hope of a 14 footer still being caught with only a day and a half left before the tournament ends. Every year that I do the BHC I go through anguish knowing the work it takes to make happen .I ask myself "do i do this again or not" I sure am glad I chose to run it again and I honored to say that watching all you fishing the BHC and catching so many big sharks that I know i made the right decision to serve you all once again by bringing to you the NUMBER ONE land-based shark tournament on the planet. Other tournaments may have way more competitors, may have bigger and more sponsors, and have way more cash prizes like Sharkathon has every single year BUT NO SHARK TOURNAMENT THAT I KNOW OF HAS AS MANY LARGE SHARKS CAUGHT THAN THE Big Hammer Challenge Shark Tournament. I am proud of your accomplishments ,your dedication,your efforts in the face of adversity and your willingness to push yourselves towards Greatness.Thank You.
