This year it seems the east coast teams are enjoying a bit of head start with the sharks but when the west coast gets hot it's gonna be a fight to see who can post up the biggest. From very reliable sources word is the huge hammers are already in the pass and the big bulls should be there any moment I cannot say what will trigger them to bite but VERY SOON THEY WILL Bull sharks some pushing 10 feet will be close to beaches crackin tarpon in half and anglers fishing the Big Hammer Challenge will be posting there massive girths on these pages as they did last year. Not to be discounted the Panhandle can turn hot with some massive Tigers that wipe eevryone out as was the case two years ago when Ernie Polk took the big fish trophy wu=ith his very pregnant 11 foot 9 inch massive Tiger. At 10 foot 9 inches the current leader cannot sleep on that fish thinking it wiil hold very long any day now someone will crack 11 feet and maybe even 13 feet.Already a 16 foot hammerhead was recently fought and lost by World Record holder Capt Bucky Dennis so the big sharks are there, the only question is who will fish the hardest and be best prepared to catch such massive monsters that will soon make there appearance close to the beaches where anxious sharkers await??
Team Shark Fever
With stormy weather in the forecast our Team bit the bullet and braved the rain and windy conditions to fish our first Friday night.Once on the beach with fresh bait in hand but lighting coming down all around us we discussed ways to overcome our fears and overcome dismal conditions to fish on this ugly night. So we came up with a game plan and executed well to turn an ugly day into positive results. The raincoats were donned and the the baits were deployed ansd soon it was back to back action right after sundown. On the beach this night are William Fundora ,Ryan Black,Billy Certrone,Matt Spurlin and we had a helper not on the Team but a good friend and hardcore sharker all the way from Virginia Tyler Parker who is our youth in training do it all sharker.

The lifeguard stand was our refuge last night when the rain and wind got furious .With raincoats on we were still getting wet with the shark action that demanded our attention turning on right after sundown

Shark fishing enthusiast young Tyler Parker fishing with us but not in the BHC tournament caught this big headed
nurse shark his first ever

next up it's my turn with a half a Bonita deployed 200 yards out

8 foot 4 inch Greater Hammerhead William Fundora Team 'Shark Fever'

tail shot
The night turned hot after I caught the hammer it seems like a light switch went on and we were getting hits every 20 minutes.Billy Centone had a 7 foot bull he fought in the wash and when it was leadered it spit the hooks. The last bite of the night was on the last bait deployed at 2 am in a rough surf by Ryan Black who hooked a big shark in my estimation at least 300 lbs that also spit the hooks 5 minutes after being hooked.

Ryan on his big fish
Tonight we ride out again Rain or No Rain IN SEARCH OF THAT ONE MONSTER that's out there.good luck to all and please practice Safety First while fishing the big Hammer Challenge.
