Official 2012 Big Hammer Challenge Reports, Pics-Leaderboard
Well this is my last shark of the tournament, had a really great time and look forward to doing it again next year. I didn't catch the monster but i think i did really well (3 tigers, 2 hammers and 1 nurse). Just want to say thanks to my teamates (Will and Ryan) and to everyone else that I fished with from other teams this was a great experience for me and look forward to fishing with everyone again. Until next time!!!!!

Well we did a Good job as a st Time Team. I really enjoyed getting back to the sand. Long Long drive and alot of car lag But all worth it in the end.
As soon as we arrive at 1am we walk on a moon lite beach and was ready to go....me and grant look over the area and then we all decided to crash for the night and get some good sleep..hahahahahahah what ever overtired and cramped truck becuz of the BIG MOSQUITO, that could pick up up and fly you away.
So the next morning we run baits out...
Grant was the first to score.... 5'11 bull
Next was Anthony ..this was his very first shark....9'0 lemon.
That lemon was caught on a 9/0 with 60lb line. it was 9Ft and 4ft 5inches round. 611 was the weight.
Next was Christi....6'6 bull
Next, I had a Primo Run...This was the first time i ever used my avet. I pick up the rod and I hit the free spool.
Lets just say.....I will never pick up the reel again i will get set holding the rod. This was Lost #1 for me. This was grant after i lost him..
The next day was slow...That night Anthony starts us off....8ft 1/2 lemon
Then Christi.....6'2 bull
Then Grant.....6'3 1ull shark
Then John....7'4 lemon
Then Anthony with another lemon...8'1
Then Grant with the last shark of are trip....This shark was hit 2 times on the way in. 5'5 Spinner shark
We had 9 Total....
Grant .... 5.5 spinner / 6'3 Bull / 5'11 Bull
Anthony...9'0 lemon / 8 1/2 lemon / 8'1 lemon
Christi....6'6 Bull / 6'2 Bull
john.......Loss / 7'4 lemon / cut line
Well we gave it all we had. Fought the conditions as much as possible the last few days to make a last minute run at a title but it just wasn't meant to be this year.
My teams and the SOS family would like to thank William for putting on such a GREAT Tournament!! This tournament brings out the best in all of us and pushes us to be the best angler we can be but it also brings many of us together to help one another in the chase of our dream fish!
I also would like to thank all of the support I received during the tournament from my friends (SOS members) and family. A few in particular...
My Wife for her unwavering support and confidence in me. Her drive to put sharks on the sand is second to none. It is an unexplainable joy to have my lifetime partner involved as much, if not more, in the sport I love so much.
My father-in-law, Doc, for making it possible to fish the tourney. Doc it was great to fish with you again and an honor to tail your monster bull!
My friends Matzy and Jeff for their support and belief in me to catch the big one. You guys always motivated me to step out on the sand one more time.
My friends Greg and Dustan for their support and leaders each sent to me. You guys make my haywire twist look awful! I was amazed at the quality materials both of these guys sent me. Both make exceptionally fine shark fishing tools.

These guys in Team Misfits have worked hard and caught many sharks but they depend on one of there girlfriends to upload and post the pics.Anyone can make a simple mistake and double post when there are that many sharks being caught and that many to sort through and the person having to upload and post can easily become confused. The shark with the green algae has been removed and will only show once.If anyone feels that any other of these sharks are doube posted please contact me via PM.Thank you for your concern but please lets be fair and civil..
