During the off season we have scouted alot of beaches. We found several good beaches we said we would fish during the BHC. When it came time to make a choice, we just could'nt pull away from the beach we fish all year round. We are dedicated to the pass. We take great pride in knowing how to fish these tough waters. We see alot of sharkers visit the pass and within an hour, they leave. After saying all that, we catch some impressive fish all the time. Not too often do we miss a hook up. Ever since the BHC has started we have been presented with a new breed of shark. Beleive it or not, they're getting smarter. Just like we fish the pass and learn new tricks, so do the sharks. This year we have not caught any big sharks. We spend 4 days a week down there and normally just get 1 good run. Its very hard to keep positive. The ray in this picture was from this past weekend. This was the one we've been waiting for. This was a heart breaker!!! To fish so hard and long, only to reel this in. When this shark hit, all it did was make the glow stick bounce just a little, like mullett swimming though the line. He hit it just right. Effortlessly cutting through the ray like a hot knife through butter.
The shark that robbed us from a potential place on the board, will run through our head every night when we get into bed. Wondering what we could have done differently. As we were packing up, literaly fixing to walk off the beach this morning, a shark with body size comparable to the bite left on the ray, swims so shallow its entire back was out of the water. My first thought was to grab its tail, but then I remembered theres not a cat. for noodling a shark, so we stood there in amazment and watched her swim by effortlessly in the shallows, as if she was taunting us. Thats ok big girl! We still have one more weekend!!! We will meet face to face...

A few days after having caught the 8 ft bull posted above this one, lucky Shannon gets another bull also 8 ft .This was the only hit of the night at 4:30 in the morning and caught on a half of a 40 lb Amberjack for bait.Chris Salomoni (snookhunter) fished with Shannon and I but he left at 1 am ,,,,,,,6 baits in only one bite and one shark.Sometimes it pays to stay late.

How the hell did you guys could not hook that?
less than a 1/4 inch from the hooks!!!! He hit it just right! I mean on free spool, clicker on, and the glow tick just bounced a little, that was it. We did nothing different this time than any other.
Now its just a cool ass pic!!! Makes you realize the power they have. Its very heart breaking.

he swam off very strong. i've caught plenty of goliaths, but this was easily the biggest i ever caught. thank God i was using bullbuster mono because i had to horse him up over a rock ledge and my line had scrape marks all over it. i know for sure it would have been cut if i stuck with a different brand.
also, with it being my biggest i was also scared when it bled. but after snapping what pics we could and walking him back out to deep water, he took right off.
