LEADER BOARD FOR WEEK ONE April 1st- April 7th,2010

Ask jimmy,reymundo and sandra. Head first i tried getting to swim away 3 times, no luck, yet when i dragged him backwards into the deep water than spun him as the wave sucked back, he swam away like a champ.

Teamed up with my cousin Will J and Shawn (team big mutton club) and hit a few bridges.Will got to the 7 mile bridge early with the idea to snag a ray and keep it alive in the livewell to fish the outgoing tide at Long key bridge.Well he put out the live ray at both long key and channel 5 but the big hammers are not in yet but they will be very soon .Already the schools of tarpon are starting to show up around the bridges.

Sea Critters Galore
We fished the outgoing at Long key til 5 am then caught the incoming tide at channel 5 but all we caught was a 63 inch Jewfish ,a large sea turtle ,and two nurse sharks all released but it wasn't what we were looking for but had fun just the same.This young masterful shark fisherman Shawn Kallian handled the big Goliath like a true champ on 80 lb test and on a Penn 9/0.Way to go Shawn.

All the luck was happening on Shawn's 9/0 on this morning.I tried rubbing up on Shawn for good luck but it did not work ,,,,,,,this was his day.One hour before we left JD Hammer and his son Jimmy dropped by on the way to the 7 mile bridge in search of fresh bait.They told us they caught two lemon sharks the night before and lost a big bull on a sea fan,,,,,AGAIN!!!!

Last night our jr. angler Zack Howell captured a 86'' lemon (7'2'')

Zack is on the right, Steve in the middle with the rod, and Me on the left.

TL 86" (fish not tagged because it was out of the water too long)

I caught this 67.5" (5'7.5'')blacktip at the end of the night.


TL 67.5'' the fish was tagged and released and swam off with great speed.

Fished last night from 10pm to 4am and landed 1 Atlantic Sharpnose about 3ft in length - Not worth a photo.

with a 7ft 11 1/4 in lemon last night would have been prob a few innches bigger but tail had been nipped off. tagged and swam away mad as hell

Looks like the Lemons are starting to show up. Good job to both of you on the Lemons.
