This shark tournament has been possible due to my background in the sport for so many years .When I decided to start this tournament my inspiration was the exciting shark tournament fishing i had enjoyed over the years.To put together this tournament takes hard work and a love for the sport and the fishermen in it.I am specially moved to see the DEDICATION and RELENTLESS PURSUIT TO WIN of some Teams that fish the Big Hammer Challenge.Fishing through tough conditions and not giving up ,a relentless pursuit of a Victory shows lots of character and it is the reason for this Shark Tournament. I understand the HARD WORK,I understand the DESIRE,I understand the NOT GIVING UP,I have been there and am grateful for the spirit that moves those that try so hard to reach the top.Catching monster sharks is not about being a tough guy or a street thug ,it's as simple as the fight of man against beast that has been part of human history since the cavemen hunted the wooly mammoths. To learn why you do this sport and what drives you to fish for big fish is to better understand yourself and your place on this earth.Dedication and hard work makes humanity progress and overcome.
I have seen Teams that started in this sport with the wrong concept of what it is to pursue sharks because they thought it was a Kill sport now evolving to better standards of catch and release fishing while ramping up there passionate dedication to catch MONSTER SHARKS. Today I see a new push by those who once slaughtered sharks to promote catch and release, and for that we are grateful.
