Congratulations and thank you to all those affiliated with the South Florida Shark Club's 2011 Big Hammer Challenge. To the organizers, for hosting and coordinating one helluva show. And to the anglers. Guys you are the best. It was an honor to compete with each of you. I believe every one of us will walk away a better shark fisherman, perhaps also better men and women. The added level of intensity brought by honest, fair competition tempers and hones our edge.

Will, you are the man! Thank you for putting the idea of this competition into practise. With the time and effort you and your administrators have dedicated to the tournament, I am amazed at the performance you put on, on the sand.

Thank you all!

I am so very greatful for all your participation and for allowing us to be the first ever to unify like never before the land based tournament shark fisherman .We competed with great spirit of sportsmanship something that has been lost in many circles and showed great respect for each other and the outcome was terrific .It has been our vision since our very begginings to do something positive for this sport and at times we have been battered by ghost from our past (killing every shark that was caught)other times battered by other website jealous administrators who wanted us to fail because they felt threatened by our presence and our senior status. We have been battered by disruptions beyond our control but we have continued forward always with our GOALS intact ,always desiring positive things for this sport and never allowing ANYONE (including old timers in our midst)to deviate from our goals of being the EXAMPLE of responsible, ethical new style shark fisherman. All our struggles to practice our sport in a new enviromentally conscious acceptable way have been paying big dividends --we will not retract from those goals. It was swim or sink-we reinvented how we practiced our sport and we have survived and thrived through all the storms that threatened our existence .Mark Duncan, Troy Coupel and so many others like you (new and old members) on this site are helping to put the right face on this sport by truly unifying it's anglers and for that a BIG THANK YOU.
