Folks the 2010 Big Hammer Challenge awards party will take place on Sunday May 9th at John U Lloyd state park in Hollywood beach.For those of you unfamiliar with the park it is on the Atlantic ocean just south of Port Everglades Inlet.Take I-95 to the Sheridan street exit -turn east to A1A -then 1 mile north to the park.The marina pavillion will be one of the first ones as you drive in to the park it will be on your left hand side.The awards ceremony will start at 1 pm and run until 4 pm.The ceremony will be at the Marina Pavillion.The reservation was made 3 weeks ago at a time when my father was gravely ill in the hospital and my mind was elsewhere I did not notice it is on mother's day but I apologize for the screwup it's completely my fault .I've scheduled it for 1 pm in that way those that want to see mom early on Sunday can do so or meet up with her later on after the ceremony.Lots of good food and drink and plenty of prizes to go around .If we have enough people show interest we will have a raffle for some nice fishing items.hope to see you all there.

If the stock market dont crash du to our idiot oil spill we will be there. We look forward to it. 15 hr drive but ya dont win the most prestigus shore bound tourniment in the world every day. Hi everybody, just wanted to say that I am looking forward to meeting the Polk family & seeing other club members at the awards ceremony. I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE A SPECIAL REQUEST OF ANYBODY ATTENDING EXCEPT THE POLKS. WILLIAM & HIS WIFE ARE DEALING WITH TWO SICK ELDERLY PARENTS, RUNNING AROUND PICKING UP TROPHIES, PRIZES, ETC. I AM GOING TO BRING A FRUIT PLATTER & A DESSERT TO THE AWARDS CEREMONY. I AM HOPING THAT WE COULD DO SOME KIND OF POT LUCK DINNER. IF EVERYBODY WOULD BRING 1 OR 2 THINGS TO EAT, IT WOULD MAKE THINGS A LOT EASIER FOR MAGGIE & WILL. TAGGING SHARKS
IN 2010 THE BIG HAMMER CHALLENGE WILL FOR THE FIRST TIME BE INVOLVED IN THE TAGGING OF SHARKS TO HELP SCIENTIST IN BETTER UNDERSTANDING SHARKS AND THERE MOVEMENTS.EACH TEAM MAY CHOOSE TO RECIEVE FIVE OR TEN TAGS WHICH WILL BE DISTRIBUTED AT THE ANGLER'S MEETING MARCH 25TH,2009 OR SENT TO YOU IN THE MAIL ALONG WITH THE TOURNAMENT T-SHIRTS ONCE YOUR ENTRY FORM AND FEES HAVE BEEN RECEIVED.AT THE END OF THE TOURNAMENT ALL UNUSED TAGS MUST BE RETURNED TO THE TOURNAMENT ORGANIZERS.ALL SHARKS MUST BE HANDLED WITH CAUTION & EXTREME CARE DURING THE CAPTURE ,PICTURE TAKING ,TAGGING AND RELEASE.SHARKS SHOULD BE RELEASED AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE AFTER CAPTURE TO INSURE THERE SURVIVAL.EACH TEAM SHOULD PRACTICE THE "QUICK RELEASE" BEFORE THE START OF THE TOURNAMENT ON THURSDAY APRIL 1ST,2010.WE WILL GO OVER PROPER RELEASE TECHNIQUES AT THE ANGLER'S MEETING MARCH 25th,2009

Will & Maggie, I just wanted to thank both of you for all you do for the club. I had a terrific time at the Awards Ceremony & really enjoyed meeting so many people whose posts & pictures I've seen on the site. Monica Polk, the next time your team wins, please come to help collect the prizes. Let a friend feed the dogs. I was disappointed that I didn't get a chance to meet you! A special thanks to everybody who traveled so far to come today.
