We are honored to once again bring together for one month of competition the best land-based shark fishermen anywhere in the world.This one of a kind fishing tournament is brought to you by a very dedicated group of hard core shark fishermen who consider themselves among some of the best anglers that fish from land.Our passion is in this sport and our love for it revealed in this event.This extraordinary event continues to blossom against the odds because we at the South Florida Shark Club and the anglers that fish in the Big Hammer Challenge believe in land-based shark fishing and in the FREEDOM to FISH undisturbed on any shore.We want to take this time to thank all of the amazing anglers who join us in defending our sport and this tournament without your support this tournament would not be possible.Thank You. NEW for 2012 -Nurse sharks will ONLY count for TEAM and ANGLER totals but not Qualify for size in any category

TOURNAMENT AWARD CATEGORIES

SHARK MASTER AWARDAWARDED TO THE SHARK HUNTER THAT CATCHES THE MOST SHARKS OVER 7 1/2 FEET LONG(most big sharks)

HAMMER KING AWARD Awarded to the angler catching the most Hammerhead sharks.

TRIPLE CROWN AWARDAWARDED TO ANY SHARKER WINNING THREE SEPERATE 1ST PLACE CATEGORIES(one shark can only count for two categories-- Example Biggest Shark overall, and Biggest Tiger)You need a minimum of two winning sharks to win the Triple Crown
If there are two Triple Crown winners the one with the most overall length of fish and shark combined is determined to be the winner.

BIGGEST SHARKS CAUGHT

1 st place Biggest Shark -Winner will recieve Avet 80 Wide reel and custom rod
2 nd place Biggest Shark -Winner will recieve Penn Senator 12/0
3 rd place Biggest Shark -Winner will recieve Gold capped shark tooth
4 th place Biggest Shark -Trophy and a prize.
5 th place Biggest Shark -Trophy and a prize
Nurse sharks ONLY count for TEAM and ANGLER totals but do not Qualify for size in any category

BIGGEST OF SPECIES ( BIG BOYZ )
Biggest Hammerhead Shark Award –Given to the Angler catching the largest Hammerhead shark - Winner will receive 9/0 and rod

Biggest Lemon- Given to the Angler catching the largest Lemon shark-Winner will recieve a Gimbal belt.

IN THE THREE CATEGORIES ABOVE WE REQUIRE ADDITIONAL PICTURES

1)Picture of the angler fighting the shark
2)Picture of the angler next to the shark beached with the rod and reel used to make the catch ,measuring tape stretched out along length of the entire shark(tip of nose to tail)
3)You must specify the lb test used ,make of line and reel brand name.
MANDATORY PICTURES must be posted in your report in the Official BHC Tournament.No fight pic ,no prize-no exceptions.

BIGGEST NON SHARK CATEGORY-Rays,Goliath Grouper(jewfish),Tarpon,Barracuda,Smoker Kingfish,Sawfish etc,etc,etc
Biggest non shark-Picture with the measuring tape along the complete length of the fish and the angler next to it please-(must have secret item in picture)

BEACH,PIER,BRIDGE & JETTY CHAMPIONS

1)Beach Champion -Individual Angler catching the BIGGEST shark from a beach. Trophy and Prizes
2)Pier Champion-Individual Angler catching the BIGGEST shark caught from a pier. Trophy and Prizes
3)Bridge Champion -Individual Angler catching the BIGGEST shark caught from a bridge. Trophy and Prizes
4)Jetty Champion-Individual Angler catching the BIGGEST shark from a jetty

Pier,bridge and jetty fishermen must beach there shark and take an up close picture with any shark to be submitted for LARGEST in any of these three categories.Please remember all Hammerhead sharks must be kept in the water for pictures.Same rules apply please take #1 Overall Picture,and #2 Tail picture for any shark to be submitted for LARGEST in any category .Pier,bridge and jetty anglers are not required to beach every shark if only competing for Total Numbers (Pier, Bridge and Jetty Champion Category)Only sharks over 5 feet long count.All sharks must be deemed to be over 5 foot long so please take pictures next to pilings or jetty rocks for scale when submitting catches for individual Total.Committee members will determine if all sharks meet the 5 foot minimum

Given to the angler who comes closest to catching a MONSTER SHARK then loses it
