OK, here is my first report. I have been on the site for a few years but have not posted much. I am turfed off another site now for supporting this one. I've paid my dues and am now a member here. I am hoping my pics will come up. Question, do you use the direct image from Photobucket?

Anyway.

I was down at our condo for a few weeks and unfortunately experience some very windy conditions. It seemed to calm down on some evenings but none the less we did get some baits wet. I had a few highlights which follow in no relevant order.

1- Caught several blacktips of sizes varying between 3 and 6 feet. I don't really count them anymore as anything more than a bit of fun and in fact a bit of a pain as they keep steeling our baits.

2- Met up with Jason - NCsharker. Seems like a cool dude who is totally focused on catching beasts. We didn't hook up for a serious nite, but I hope to once I get down in the beginning of July. OK Jason, I give in and will go down to your spot.

3- Caught 4 snook on my new fly rod. What a blast! unfortunately the one slot snook was caught on May 1st. :( Thank you Norm Zeigler, your shminnow flies work wonderfully.

4- Hooked into a monster which dragged me down the beach ripping line off my 12/0 then twisted and bit through 600 lb wire cable, taking the hook with it. Nothing grabbed onto my 14/0 all two weeks except a 6 foot blacktip.

5- Caught our personal best Lemon Shark ( Jerry Hodgkins and I) 9'6" and really, really fat. I think it had a 57inch girth. definitely pregnant and ready to pop. She swam away well. hopefully the one decent picture of her will come up above. We had a guy Richard who was eager to help and was shining a spot on every fish we caught. Ruined all our pics.

We have a kick arse tip planned for July. 6 days on the beach without relent.

Chris (Jackster)

If the pic doesn't come I will try again below.

That would put the guesstimated weight well over 400lbs, and igfa world record is 405lbs

Nice fish

We figured that it would be up there. I know that there have been longer Lemons caught. This one actually looked strange it was so fat, like a massive guppy. I am so mad that the pics were spoiled. Maybe Jerry has a good pic he can put up. She was caught at low tide and it was a SOB to get in. It took Jerry and I with the tail rope all we could do to get her just into shallow water. We had a heck of a time getting her back in the water. We were worried that we might hurt her. I am being conservative with the 9'6". Could have stretched the tail out a bit more, but we were rushing and were eager to get the girth.

Might have been worth something in the BHC.

Here is the post Will. I will get a few more pics. I did take one with the tape, but it ended up a big blur due to the spot light.
