THIS IS WRONG IN SO MANY WAYS

I saw this and am glad I help to put a stop to it. Just wish I could do more.
by doing the tag and release of sharks.
also by contacting my gov officers and letting them know where i stand on this.
Even bringing this to your att. so you can do the same is helping. The more of us that speak up against this the better we sound, so let your gov officers know where you stand
Not trying to knock you man, but Something like this is most likely out of the average anglers hands. As far as i know this site is about an angler trying to catch a single creature on a rod and reel. The mentioned activity is straight commercial finning. I agree that it is a sick practice and am all about changing it (which your post is trying to accomplish). LAND BASED shark fishing will NEVER endanger these species simply because hook-up ratios do not support said kill/fin ratio.
Well, sadly the scale of which this is happening in certain parts of the world is unstoppable at this point, especially combined with the lucrative coin $$$ involved. Hopefully the pressure being put on some fisheries will finally result in change. Even it's just a little. This cultural, antiquated, criminal and useless BS is so ingrained in some of these cultures - it's nearly impossible to stop it. There is a new generation of Asians willing to try to stop it though and it's likely through their efforts (at the consumer level) that real change will happen. It's even happening in Palm Beach County (late at night offshore) and to my knowledge the FWC is doing little to intervene. If it were Pompano or Snook, etc. - they'd be all over it. IMO. ;(
