Sort of not a real shark fishing report... Jewbacca.

I was out fishing the pier with a couple buddies, one of them being forum member Monoxide, when a pitched bait on my 9500 went off.
I spent about two and a half hours fighting this fish (of which I had guessed on the greater realms of optimism, being a tiger shark, then a lemon shark, a jewfish, a hammerhead, all the way down to a huge ass stingray) when the 65lb test power pro on my 9500 was starting to get spooled. With the collaborative help from Monoxide and a couple others, a line-to-line was accomplished onto my Avet TRX 50W. Another hour or so passed, and we had a beautiful big Jewfish onto the shore.
Pictures will come later today, I'm far too sore for any of that crap.

Thanks for taking a couple seconds for this short read,
John Frederick Widmann, IV.

Tight lines and bent splines.

it was 2 hours on the 9500 then tied into the trx and another 2 hours on that. we didnt want to lock down to 100lbs of drag on 65lb braid and number 9 wire. lol. all the pics we got are from cell phones so they may not be the best.

Very nice catch, looks like you need to upgrade to a spinner with more drag so no tie ins necessary. Very impressive on that 9500 none the less.

after we tied in we saw that we could have got it on the spinner alone because after we tied in we never went out of the 65lb braid. we tied in with prolly 100 yards left.

Great summer time fishing tale and final results are a joy to see...young men catching Big Fish on a pier, reminds me of simpler times and similar adventures. Thanks Widmann and Shawn for the report and pics .
