i fished the bridge for many hours without much luck, at about 12 the sharks started to appear the reels would scream and get dropped or id miss a hookset. eventually i hook up and the fish starts burning line and takes an immediate left turn and hits the bumpers under the bridge. i can feel my line rubbing as it continues to slowly peel line i manage to turn it, a few people start running over and offer to help, i tell one guy to hold the camera and see if he can manage a pic or two, then i ask the other guy to help me get this fish off of the wooden bumpers. the only thing i could have thought to do break my line free was to get at a different angle so i run to the middle of the bridge and climb onto the roof of the drawbridge control room and fight the shark from there. as i start maneuvering the shark from the barnacle covered piling, i hear cursing and threats from a pretty intoxicated white trash man without a shirt, he was saying "was dat u that was flippin us off?!!" and "i dont think u know who your messin wit biittch" now theres a crowd of drunk white trash angry people below me while im fighting a shark from the roof. theres some yelling back and forth then the drunk who started it pulls out a huge kitchen knife and starts threatening everyone , his girfriend tries taking it away and he wont let go of it. when one of the girls gets on the phone with the cops he finally leaves. i jump off the roof and run down the bridge and the shark is free and i work him in quickly. no one is there to help me like they said they would so i snapped a solo pic of the fight using my timer on my camera. everntually they figure out that i still have the fish and start crowding again, so i take advantage and ask them to take pictures. i land the shark and release it quickly and after the release the cops show up to give me a little bit of interrogation, so i tell them what i saw and heard. by far one of the craziest things that has happened to me while fishing

I know the place..you gotta be careful there late at night pal, because once last call is over at those scummy bars close by..the people from the movie "The Hills Have Eyes" start coming out to play

just becareful out there buddy.deff some strange folks out there. have u ever ran into the the guy out on ft myers beach he carries a boombox and tries to do karate. he took a knife out on me one day out there.and didnt end up to good for him

some knuckleheads took a poor old guy's tackle away from him one night,
