We had a Tiger dry spell for about 2 weeks, but my customers and I have been averaging about 2 tigers per half day trip. Most are between 300-500 pounds, and I've tagged and released two that were over 1,000. Hammers are in, but they arent very big. The bigger ones should be here in a few weeks.

Thanks Dave, I appreciate it.
As for the tourny; I got smoked. Something weird happened that I've never seen before. I had a good Tiger season but a week before the tourny the Tigers just disappeared. I panicked thinking the blacktips were just beating them to the bait, but for some reason ALL the tigers off SC just went missing. A week after the tourny, they returned and I started catching them again, averaging about 2 tigers every 4 hour charter and one that would have given Walter Maxwell a run. On tourny day we caught bulls, lemons, blacktips and even had 2 bulls on at the same time , but no tigers. And only a baby tiger was weighed in at the tourny. A 500 lb hammer won it and a 200 lb lemon was 2nd, I could have had 2nd place with any of the bulls and lemons but I didnt want to kill one unless I got most of the tokens, just not worth it. The Tigers are still on fire, but for 2 weeks they were gone......probably better for them to be gone that weekend anyway.

Yeah, quite a lot of tigers up here. Its weird, you guys get much bigger hammers but our tigers are massive and plentiful. Caught 4 in 4 hours once, and 6 in one day. The tigers are in an area about 3 miles long, and very concentrated in 2 particular spots that I have found. They run from mid April thru September. As for the hammers; they're in now, got 2 this morning but both were under 300. The larger hammers come in around end of July and August when the tarpon are thickest.

VIDEOS---Check out my youtube channel, got quite a few. http://www.youtube.com/user/tikihut76?feature=mhee

From one shark hunter to another...thanks guys.

Shimano Tiagra only. Those Tiagras just dont break down. I use a 30W and a 50W. I like the little 30 because its light weight and easier to work in long fights. The 50 is just a work horse, damn thing could haul in a container ship. Love them.
