Sometimes the new fishermen we meet on the beach are the one's that are the hungriest and there excitement for shark fishing draws us to them and the fire inside us in once again stoked. When you meet a great shark fishermen he will have a trait that identifies him right away and that is his PASSION for the sport and their burning desire to tangle with Monster Sharks.

In Florida Peter Buban has already caught several BIG Hammers including his latest estimated to be between 13 ft 6" and 14 foot and a Big Tiger over 11 foot. Peter Buban built like a pro power lifter ,born in the Czek Republic and now living in the US is one of those passionate, rare shark fishermen almost totally dedicated to perfection in his tackle, and the reason he is such a standout in this sport .He thrives on the pursuit of real big Sharks and his impact has already been felt and we predict will be a game changer on the East coast of Florida.Peter is so dedicated to the sport that he recently moved to south Florida from New Jersey so he could fish for the huge sharks which he enjoys going toe to toe with . Peter is a South Florida Shark Club member ,a new friend to all of us and we are proud to have his quality shark fishermen among us. We look forward to seeing this outstanding shark hunter catch more Monster sharks , pushing the envelope ,making us work harder to stay competitive and making us all better land-based shark fishermen.

By Josh Jorgesen "The head was massive, 40+ inches wide."

Peter Buban(right wearing white shirt)releases the close to 14 foot hammerhead he caught on a Shimano Tiagra 130

by Josh Jorgesen "I was trying different spots and met some new people, including these guys from New Jersey who caught this monster tiger shark. The shark was 11'4" and incredibly fat!"

twelve foot hammer Peter caught in spring 2013

When the shark was close, I saw a massive dorsal fin about 70yds out. To my surprise, this was not the hammer that was hooked! The hammer that was hooked was only 20yds off the beach. An ever bigger hammerhead was following the shark that was hooked! Peter managed to pull the huge hammerhead all by himself. The shark measured 144.25 inches or 12ft.

The shark was very tired. I had to turn the camera off to help Peter release the shark. We managed to get a quick photo of the two of us in the water with this 12ft hammer. I love this photo!

Peter will definitely boost up the competition this year and keep us focusing on those dream sized fish. I met him at the annual awards party and unlike many fishermen, he is very modest and doesn't need to brag because plenty of people do that for him. Looking forward to seeing many more monsters in the future.

Just an average fisherman.
