Palm Beach Inlet South side Shark
So I brought the ray back in and unhooked him and put him back in the water.
I just got done getting all my gear in order and Joe and I spotted a 7-8ft Bullshark.
He had grabbed the ray right infront of us. All I could do was watch.
Wow! That's crazy,... figures.
Went again on 10/26 Low tide around 2pm dirty brown water.
Got a couple of finger mullet in the net, sent them out on bottom rigs.
Got a nice 15lb Jack and a 7lb jack. I put the bigger one out on the 9/0 Blinded with a baloon.
He swam around for two hours and nothing touched him.
So I cut the head off the 7 pounder and put it out on my 4/0 with a 6oz sinker.
The drag starts going off really fast, I set the hook and get a 4ft Cuda. took about 30-45 min to get him in
The cuda was full of energy. I was getting low on fishing time so I just released the cuda, He floated around for
a bit belly up then he flipped over and swam off. Oh yeah caught 5 small snook around 18-25inches and put them all back.
They were slamming the finger mullet as soon as they hit the water. There was alot of ladyfish, runners, jacks and snook.
I looked out to see where the baloon was after I got the cuda in and released and didn't see it so I started running to my 9/0.
The baloon was all the way at the end of the jetty so I walked out to the end with the 9/0.
I got the jack in and the head and tail were gone I just had the top fin where the hook was left.
I'm guessing large cudas ripped him into pieces, the cuts were clean, I don't think it was a Shark.
I'm going again with the wife and kids during the weekend I'll bring the camera for pics this time maby some video
also If we get a Shark on, I'm trying to break the 9/0 in on a Big Shark.
Went again 10/30 Snappers and Finger mullet,Snook, and Bluefish, & Big Jacks
The ocean side was covered with spinner sharks I caught 3 of the 54inch,69inch & 71 inch around 100lbs
here are some pics It was raining bad and didn't get any of the spinners during the night time
Snapper would even hits the plugs they were in a feeding frenzy
Some surfers caught this Spinner on a Blue Fish
I wanted to release it but there was 6 of them and didn't want any problems
they said it was hooked bad, oh well kinda sucks.
But on the good side I got to catch 3 spinners on my new penn 9 0 released all of them
The 9 0 really changes the way smaller sharks come in even with the 6 ft spinner
it only took about 20 mins to get him in. Joe showed up after being at the bar and helped me release shark,
Oh and there was tons and tons of finger mullet coming out the inlet around 8pm Snook and Tarpon were
going nuts. They were headed south bound so get ready Lake Worth Pier.
Nice report, but when you have a new post with pics, you should start a new thread, because when people see a reply to an old post they aren't as interested, it's pretty cool how your swimming out baits and stuff, I can't wait to do that.
Just an average fisherman.
Yeah good idea Mark I'll do that from now on.
Most of the time there are surfers out there and there girls are hanging out on the Jetty.
So I have them wave in one the surfers in and they usually swim out the baits for me.
But its so shallow up there you can walk the baits out on low tide with a 4-5ft mono line
attached to the hook with a large rock tied to it. It's only around 6-8ft deep where I fish at high tide.
But I always see the larger Sharks out in the deeper water, I'm just waiting on a N/W Wind so I can
Baloon Baits out there.
Went agian last night 11/1/11
Was getting hit on a spoon and diamond jig by some really big Spanish Macks
was walking down the beach following the school big spinners where slamming them
I only brought a spinning rod and a few spoons and jigs.
they were headed south bound really fast so again
get ready Lake Worth Pier.
