Blacktip Rippin 5 in one night Jan-27-2011
Watching the weather for the right signs of when to fish this time of the year is important if you want to find the fish and a smooth surf with temps that are at least 25 degrees above freezing and it's bearable --beyond that it's just too dammed uncomfortable for my liking. On this night we had some some new style rookies join us on the beach and they became outr good luck charms and cause for much friendly laughter. As always we found the fresh bait a bit scarce but enough to go around for all to have a shot at some toothy popsicle sharks.Baits were set out on a flat dark beach at night in an evening when the beach goers disappered before sunset .A cool breeze brought the temps down around 47 degrees but we were giving it all we had to make this a productive shark fishing escapade. We got good on our attempt starting at 11 pm most were hunkerd down in there sleeping bags hiding behind umbrellas to keep the wind off our backsides when the annual tipper migration began to materialize in the form of screming Senators up and down our campsite.Total for the night was 5 blacktips .A big thanks to everyone who braved the cold temps to fish with us.Thanks to Ray for being as always lit up with passion and a desire to help everyone land there sharks ,,,,,Ray you're one of a kind .Thanks to Dave (salvasharks501)Seawolf (Tony),Keith (big baits)Chris (snook hunter ) for the brief visit and our wet kayaker in the surf Alfredo our new recruit --I think he's hooked on shark fishing now or still thawing out not sure which. Thanks to all the hardcore "I don't care how cold it is I'm taking out my bait again even if is 2 am" fishermen who joined us on this mini but productive adventure. The pics will tell the rest.Biggest 5 ft 11,5ft 8,5ft 7 ,5ft 6 and finally 5 ft 3 were the lengths ,Dave's and mine which were promply tagged.

way to go will and crew, they're almost as fun on the big reels as on the spin rods cause we play the who can let the tip not run at all game which usually never works out, if ya'll come up my way and fish for em give me a shout if I got noting better to do I'd come out.
Great to fish with you guy's (Will,Dave,Rey,Keith,Alfred) had a ton of fun, Sorry you had to leave Chris next time out, Like alway's nice to fish with a group of people that love the sport and get along that's what Comradery is all
about. Nice to see Alfred fighting a shark on my Rod for the first time. Congrat's to all.
Catch you later, Seawolf
