If thoose were Aligator Gar you guys should get in contact with your local wildlife agentcy. As far as I know there aren't that many left in the wild , maybe some kind of Record ?

They are not alligator gar they are long nose gar and there are hundreds of thousands of them in florida. Also there are still plenty of alligator gar in the wild. If you try and live or dead bait tarpon fish in charlotte harbor the long nose gar are a pain in the ass they eat everything you put in the water

I took another look, def Longnose Gar. I didnt know they were in Charlotte Harbor, I had no idea they could tolerate saltwater, thats pretty cool. Again awesome report guys!

Here is a couple more pictures of the gar.

There were a lot of them in the surf at times. A big one shot under my kayak and out the other side. I thought a shark had me.

nice job, could they have been alligator gar, ive caught a cpl of them while fishing out at the cape coral yatch club usening mullet for blacktips
