Damn!!!

Has anyone caught a smaller mako from shore?
They all appear to be monsters 9+ feet

This has been a epic year for the makos it seems and hopefully isn't over yet

There has been a very small number of smaller sharks hooked and/or landed. Earnie got one in that range and one guy hooked one on a cobia jig about that size as well, it's on youtube.

Just an average fisherman.

That's a bigun! Speaking of Letting them go, I have harvested my last one. If I happen up on a 1000lb one I may keep it but other wise it's getting a tag. I don't care what every one else does, but my challenge will be to have a good release. The commercial quota limit this year for pelagic sharks is 1,075,856Lbs dead weight. That's with out head and guts.

Congratulations Will, and Bill!! Your number is up next Bill.

Wow! Absolutely amazing and a catch of a lifetime. Huge freakin' props on getting it back out and safely releasing it. Wow! BTW: I must say that many would consider keeping a Mako. 8-)
