A true; Bonita Blitz...tigers and more. LAKEWORTH.Mucho PICS
On the East Coast once a year there is an excellent time to fish; a time that will tire you out with so many fish, a time that you can't even keep a bait in the water, times like these produce chaos, the fish are having a frenzy, but you should see the anglers left and right atop the bolstering wooden structure, heaving led like tribal warriors, the overall adrenaline of everyone out there creates a vial of panic as rods wave in all direction, dangerous lures with jagged multi-hooks come within inches of faces and much more.
This is the BONITA BLITZ.
You never know what will be swimming amongst the plethora of bait and bonitas engulfing them.
VIDEO on gaff man Willo, he only accepts head shots.
everyone knows where there's fish there's probably sharks. So lets see what we can do with some live bonitas and a little time.
Finally got a nibble.
Purple? I wonder what that is.
good head shakes on 40lb test.
The convicts stripes were revealed.
You're in the jungle baby. The 6fter we caught.
BUT IT'S ONLY JUST BEGUN.
Hammer said how bout we freeline a bonita on the saltists?
30lb test? I replied; you're crazy!
So we all fought it, I got the end piece since I ran non-stop from the tip of the pier to the car in the far parking lot for the camera.
Biggest blacktip I've ever seen, super fat and real long. Maybe over 7feet.
Beast, nice tipper, shared fight.
Now for a REAL Tiger
Hooked up.
30 minutes into the fight Eddie came for a piece
Alright, 3 people have gotten into the fight, it's officially an L-Dub community Tiger.
Hammer handed off the rod to Willo and elbowed the lever drag into freespool, naturally a crows nest occurred, on 40lb test wit ha 300lb fish this was devastating, but not the end, it has happened before in the past and a 3 man crew did the trick. JD applying pressure to the shark, me putting slack and Willo picking out those twigs from the bird nest.
First glimpse since she burned us after taking the bait.
And then it ran in, awesome VIDEO.
Tried to go under but after 3 hours it was easy to pull her in the direction you wanted her to go.
Real girthy fish.
Right after we popped the line.
Took a while for her to regain her bearing and strength but with Willo coming through again a scare with a big sinker woke her up like a coffee shot and she was off to go eat more bonita.
And that my friends, is the latest installment from the Lakeworth Pier.
P.S. Eddie sent out a live 18lb jack out to the monster hole with this baby
Just an average fisherman.

Bonita Blitz and more palm beach Tiger action, just another excellent example of summertime pier fishing on the Lake Worth pier earns this one a sticky. Thanks for the effort Mark and Jd.
