About a year and a half ago when I first started shark fishing I was putting baits out of one of the east coast inlets and I was only fishing a talica 16 2 speed. It was a quite night with no wind and a fullmoon with an outgoing tide so I was ballooning baits out of the inlet about 200 yards and the rod got pick up really slow and steady. As I let the fish eat he just stayed the same speed then I stuck him 4 or 5 times and with the full moon in the back round this shark sky rocketed and I was is shock of what I saw. I know what a spinner sharks looks like and the body and how they jump this was like a tarpon jump but was a shark and the fish got a good 4 feet out of the water and had no spins and belly flopped side ways on the way down and made a noise to this day I will never forget.
The fish popped me after the jump

Please give me your opinions this is something I need answered and I've never seen a spinner even near that size. I got a great view of the shark and I think it was a mako

Could very well be a Mako. But I have never caught one. I have seen big Lemon Sharks leave the water upon setting the hook, as well as large Black Tips. The Lemon will fall over like you have stated. Willing to say that any shark besides a Nurse will leave the water.

I'm going to say Mako. Just so I have a shot of catching one.
