I will gladly and honorably attend to defend the rights of not only the land-based fisherman but all Florida shorebound anglers. Our rights as fisherman are under attack and we must each do what we can to defend our rights.  We do not depend on any other agency or group to join us but we welcome any and all in our defense. After so many years involved in this sport those of us who love it feel a deep obligation to defend it .We realize that this proposal is based on the unwaranted ancient fear people have of sharks .We must try and educate the general public and the beachgoers that sharks are not bloodthirsty wicked eating machines but a very important part of the oceans.Whoever wants to defend our rights is welcome as long as respect and order are maintained during the meeting. Our sentiments are heartfelt, our obligation clear and our position based on facts and the truth about sharks and there behaviour.Defending the right to fish Florida's beaches will help ALL land-based fisherman in Florida and those from outside our state who frequently travel here to fish the best shark fishing beaches in the world. So if you care about this sport and feel passionate about it please this is a plea for your help to make a difference.Defend the fisherman or stand by and have your rights trampled on!! Now is the time for all in the shark fishing community ,the shark experts, enthusiast and so called hard core shark fisherman to step up, show support and Defend what we Love. We'll see tommorow who is and Who is'nt. City Delray Beach City Hall Meeting tommorow Tuesday July 21st,2009 6 pm Comission Chambers Delray Beach City Hall 100 NW 1st Avenue Delray Beach, FL 33444

That realy sucks, that is our rights they are messing with. People are quick to judge and quick to ban together to take the rights that we all hold dear. These fish we are catching are the poor mans big game fish, the only way we have to live out our dreams. some folks dream of money some dream of fishing. This is the united states of america and we have the right to live out our dreams. We hurt no one and some comunist wants to push there way on us. The shark fisherman is a gritty hard headed tough person that does not give up. We will press on. The general public is on our side but the beach community is not. I have tryed to get the national marine fishries to help me whin i got ban from pcola pier. I thought they would find my info important. They would not get involved in political battle. That is when i started releasing with out taggs. Its ashamed that people will fight to take rights away, have they forgot what the USA stands for, maybe they should move to china where people does not have rights. Around here they like to do the same stupid stuff. They down the fisherman cause he draws sharks to the beach and the same people are trying to build a 6 acre snorkeling reef on the swimming beach. Whos drawing the sharks? the burocrat and the pencil pusher! If any donations for a layer need to be made let me know, for here we have power. When my big mako hit the beach i asked everyone not to call the news because I know what happens next. I dred the day the no fishing sign is my hole so I lay low and do not draw attention to my self. They mes with my sport they always have a name and an address. If I cant make a sport of a shark I will make a sport of a person. Mean gritty hatefull and mad.

I totally agree with you Will more and more places are aginst us and our sport. I was once told that because I was fishing (Not even shak fishing at the time) I was attracting the sharks that they are not normally around beaches! Just goes to show you that the public is blind to the real truth.
