New to shark fishing, need advice!!

Hey guys, I've been interested in getting into land based shark fishing for some time but now I'm really considering it. I've been doing my research on equipment but am having a hard time finding some affordable but decent equipment. I'm an 18 year old kid who comes down to Florida once a year to fish. I've been looking at the Penn Squal 30 or 40 size and a Okuma 10' heavy rod. Please let me know if you have any advice for smaller shark equipment.

What kind of sharks do you want to catch?
If you just stick with blacktips then you have lots of options and could probably pick up something here or on craigslist for as cheap as $100 to $150. You might even want to try a spinning reel.
If you want to land that 8 to 10 footer that comes along you will need to spend a little more. Alot of people love the senators. You can pick them up at a pawn shop, or CL, or maybe someone here will have one. You should be able to pick up a rod pretty cheap too. Then internationals are pretty tough and will land big fish. I have an International II 50TW and a couple of rods if you are interested.

Thank you, I'm just gonna try and stick to black tips and the occasional small sandbar. My only concern with a spinning is will I have enough line, and will I want to keep fishing after I cast a 8-10oz bait a couple times and cut up my finger.

You can get 750yds of 50lb PP on a spinfisher 10500. Or 670 if you wanted to fish 65lb. I got mine new on ebay for about $150 and I've seen them on CL on occasion for less.
Maybe some tape for your fingers?
