Husband and wife team Luis and pilar won for biggest grouper and biggest kingfish of the year awards.

Junior Angler of the year Award, and tied for 2nd place biggest Lemon shark with a 9 ft 2 inch specimen went to Aaron Bunch of Bradenton Beach Florida

Biggest snapper 10 lbs and biggest Snook 20 lbs went to Shannon Bustamante.
Big Will J gets the biggest cuda award 26 lbs
Biggest Tarpon award went to a fine young angler-Jimmy Fuqua with an est 40 lb specimen
Some winners did not make it to the awards party and they included Nick Cipriano who was in the hospital with his young son .Nick had the 2nd biggest shark of the year and biggest Tiger shark of the year with his 10 foot 3 inch tiger.Also absent was Chuck Doria with the 2nd place biggest hammerhead of the year with a 8 ft 6 inch specimen.Kevin Pagan who caught the 3rd place biggest bull shark was also not present to recieve his award for his 8 foot 2 inch Bull shark.Those of you that did not attend please contact me so you can recieve your prizes.

Will J's name gets inscribed into the Perpetual Trophy as the winner for 2008.The RENE DE DIOS PERPETUAL TROPHY goes home for one year to the angler who catches the biggest shark during the year.Will J Fundora recieves it graciously.

Will gets to wear the "Yellow Jersey" of the SOUTH FLORIDA SHARK CLUB for one year.Only the winners inducted into the perpetual trophy get to wear the so called "yellow jersey" during the year.

We had a great time i hope every one that missed this event can make it out next year because it is the party of the year.The food was excellent and plentiful ,old friends, shark fisherman from around the state and a good time was had by all.This party i proved to myself that i can get behind a microphone and talk from the heart and present the winners with emotion and poise.It was quite a revelation how easy the words flow when i close my eyes and let my heart do the talking.Great Party Thanks to everyone that came out and helped make it a success.This coming year 2009 promises to be a fantastic year for the shark club and land-based shark fishing in general and we hope that all fisherman interested in catching sharks will join us and become a member in the oldest and only still active shark club left in Florida.Remember this year there is $1500 up for grabs going to the Triple crown winner who catches the biggest hammerhead,biggest tiger shark and biggest Bull shark of the year if no one person catches all three the prize is divided in three $500 prizes.Just an added incentive for any one still undecided on joining the club.Have a safe ,healthy and properous new year everyone.

Will great party man. Congrats on your proposal. I'm sorry that Herbert and I had to leave a little early but with the three kids at home I need to save those all nighters for Fishing not for Partying LOL. We enjoyed the party and it was great talking with you, Julio, and Lui again. It was also great to finally meet Jimbo ( whom I had heard so many great things about through my uncle and my father ) and his kids ( Jimmy, Johnny, and James ). It was also good to meet Shannon, Big Will and Aaron.
