Here are the pictures of the biggest sharks caught by shark club members since 1983.

1983 James Fuqua(Jimbo) with a 431 lb hammerhead shark he caught from South Beach pier.This was the first year that we officially put together the SOUTH FLORIDA SHARK CLUB


(1984) Rene de Dios 322 Lb Hammerhead Shark.


(1985) Rene de Dios 450 Lb Bull Shark.


(1986) Rene de Dios 406 Lb Bull Shark.


(1987) Rene de Dios 470 Lb Hammerhead Shark.


(1988) Rene de Dios 697 Lb Tiger Shark.


(1989) William Fundora 788 Lb Hammerhead Shark.


(1990) Kevin Pagan 770 Lb Tiger Shark.


(1991) Rene de Dios 327 Lb Bull Shark.


(1992) Jorge Fundora 544 Lb Tiger Shark.


(1993) James Fuqua (Jimbo) 440 Lb Bull Shark.


(1994) James Fuqua (Jimbo) 454 Lb Hammerhead Shark.


(1995) Rene de Dios 430 Lb Bull Shark.


(1996) Rene de Dios 531 Lb Hammerhead Shark.


(1997) Rene de Dios 629 Lb Tiger Shark.


(1998) James Fuqua (Jimbo) 388 Lb Bull Shark.


(1999) Rene de Dios 357 Lb Bull Shark.


(2000) Rene de Dios 433 Lb Bull Shark.

(2002)Will j Fundora and friend with a 375 lb Bull shark biggest for that year.

(2003)Will J Fundora with his Bimini Bahamas caught 11 ft 11 inch 436 lb hammerhead shark.

(2004)Johnny Fuqua with his 421 lb bull shark
BIGGEST OF 2004.


Shannon Bustamante with his 410 lb bull shark
BIGGEST OF 2005.


Joey Fuqua with his 362 lb bull shark
BIGGEST OF 2006.


Matt Spurlin with his 698 lb 12 ft Bimini Bahamas tiger shark
BIGGEST OF 2007



William Fundora with his 13 foot Bahamas caught Tiger shark
BIGGEST OF 2008


Shannon with his 12 foot 2 inch Hammerhead shark
BIGGEST OF 2009


Ernie Polk and Joey Polk with Ernie's 11 foot 9 inch pregnant Tiger shark with a 80 inch girth,that had an estimated weight of 928 lbs.This was the winning shark in the 2010 BIG HAMMER CHALLENGE

2011 BIGGEST SHARKS OF THE YEAR
First Biggest shark of the Year- TIE Jimmy Dean Fuqua -11 ft 5 inch Hammer

and Timmy T Swaggerty -11 ft 5 inch Hammer

2012 BIGGEST SHARKS OF THE YEAR
At 14 foot 2 inch this will be a hard shark to beat in 2012 or any other year for that matter.Mark did a great job on this truly huge monster.


2013 BIGGEST SHARK OF THE YEAR WINNER JOSHUA JORGENSEN -11 FOOT 6 INCH HAMMERHEAD SHARK

2014 WINNER PETER BUBAN 13 FT 9 INCH HAMMERHEAD SHARK

If you are referring to Rene, Sharkboy, it is my understanding that a lot of people wanted his daughter to give them Rene's reels. Rene didn't raise any suckers, and from what I know, she sold the rods & reels. He always taught her not to let people take advantage of her. She now has a degree in banking/finance! :D His daughter was always a good kid & a source of tremendous pride for Rene, may he rest in peace.

I can attest to the where abouts of a least one of Rene's reels - his last 16/0 Senator. I will start a thread on it.
Right now I'm reading and learning - this forum is frikking great! :!:

I would have never guessed that tiger to be 544 from that picture, I guess the angles are weird, but I always like seeing those ancient sharking pictures. Try and talk to TimmyT about getting some pictures up from his father and grandfather, west palm has a lot of great history too.

Just an average fisherman.
