New for 2010 three more trophies biggest shark trophies.First place BIGGEST Mako of the year,FIRST PLACE Biggest Sandbar shark of the year, and First Place biggest Dusky shark of the year. The makos are an amazing species that is not often caught from shore except on Florida panhandle beaches in the winter months. From the reports we've been getting from west coast shark hunters in the last month the Dusky sharks are making a comeback and they are commonly caught in the 5 to 8 foot size by fisherman on the piers and beaches. That is great news for a species that was on the brink of extinction.I have not seen a Dusky in many years but I sure am glad they are making a comeback.Remember everyone that the Dusky is a protected species and must be released safely back into the ocean so please be careful in your handling of any Dusky shark caught .Last but not least the sandbar shark is a scrappy shark that is very common in south Florida in the colder months and is often caught by club members both on both coast.
