Another South Beach Legend passes (Julio Terzado) aka Gordo

Im saddened today all the while trying to be festive and enjoy my sons one year birthday,
I was punctured and saddened by the death of A very close friend (Julio) , Bull Shark 51 as many of you may know him.
He leaves behind his wife and the One who needs all of us on here the most his son Jordan!!!

Julio was a humble gentle man, but also a big player in our shark club. One you would consider an original!!! One of the founding members!!
Rene always spoke of Julio as lucky Julio. Rene always schooled me with stories about Julio, how he was the luckiest man he knew,
it didn't matter how many shark rods were out on the old south beach pier, Julios was the first and or only one to get hit.
If im not mistaken Renes biggest shark ever was when Julio left his rod out, a 9-0 that had half a side plate missing and nearly out of
commission, I believe he left the pier and told Rene it was all his!!! it got hit stripped and Rene eventually tied in to other reels, but if im not mistaken that was the reel that caught Rene his largest shark ever 14 ft 2 hammerhead from the south beach pier!!!

Its been a while and I could be wrong on details, but none the less Julio well miss you brother!!!!

And Jordan I promise you, your in good hands, I will take you anywere and everywere my hectic life allows!!!

all who want to make donations or pay your last respects this is his wifes Ana's number 954 687-5599

I only got to fish with Julio once and it was a pleasure. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

My thoughts and prayers are with Julio and his family. I met Julio a few times and all I know is that he was a really nice guy and was always willing to help out with whatever. The last time I saw him was at the end of the year party in December. Julio may you be an Angel looking over your family now. Thoughts and prayers for his family.

I'm so sorry that you & your mother have lost your Daddy, Jordan. Julio always made me feel welcome at any of the tournaments we fished together. He was always the first to volunteer to man the grill or help with the club. He was a good guy little grasshopper! He was always proud of you & wanted you to do your best in school because he loved you with all your heart!

I was flattened by the news that our very dear friend Julio Terzado had passed away when on Sunday (Fathers Day)when my wife and I got back in town from a one week vacation to Panama..As I heard my cel phone voice mails the pain of what I was hearing was more bad news in 2013 .My very good friend Julio Terzado had died the day before at Aventura Hospital due to failing health (a bad heart ,Renal failure,a Pacemaker).

My oldest friend I knew Julio since the early 1970's when we were just kids.Ever since I was 8 years old when we lived in the Wynwood section of Miami I met Julio and his brothers at the Wynwood Park(later became Roberto Clemente Park) across the street from where we lived at 144 NW 34 street. Avid shark fishermen and always the gentle soul as his health started failing in 2007 he would make it a point to bring food to all our fishing adventures , he was content just to be out there with us to share the good times and to spend time with his son Jordan-he figured if he can't reel in a shark he could contribute to the overall well being of the group. Julio was an unique man even when he was suffering pain and discomfort he would never complain ,you would never know how tired he was,how weak he felt, he kept it to himself not wanting to be a burden just feeling blessed to be out with his son and good friends.

I willl write a full story on the life and times of "Julio El Gordo"shortly. Our condolences and prayers go out to the family of a very gentle loving shark hunter and original South Beach Sharker. R.I.P. my brother.

I remember Julio. He was a kind soul and had a kindred spirit. Very dedicated to the South Beach Shark Club. I remember back in the 80's he was wearing a Blue Jacket with the words " South Beach Shark Club".. OOOHHHH how I wanted to wear one of those I recall fondly.

Another one from the old days leaves us. Julio, may God Love U. Y, you will be remembered from all those that you impacted; that you were loved in their lives.
