Son of a great shark fishing legend and walking in his father's footsteps this young man full of cheer, energy and passion just like "the old Boy" as he calls his dad with love and affection .Jimmy Dean Fuqua deserves this prize for January 2011 Sharker of the Month for his 8 ft 1 inch bull shark. His father in January also caught what very few men can say they've caught-a sailfish from a pier and deserves a seperate prize for that and I'm tempted to say this is a Tie between father and son for the January Sharker of the Month but it is the way the old boy wants it anyway always the best for his children. This is a family that fishes together and stays together I feel great admiration and love for both my friends James (JD Hammer)the father and Jimmy the son,,,,,Congratulations to both on your fine catches for January 2011.

I know it was tough choosing Will, good choice though, considering this is a shark fishing club not a billfishing club  , I would say it was a tie except for the fact that JD aint in it for fame and fortune, he's just havin fun, and now its time to hand over the mic and let the spotlight shine on the new contenders, old folks move out of the way, the new generation is takin over, be ready!

Just an average fisherman.

Our February South Florida Shark Club "Sharker of The Month" is Zack Howell of Team Bullbusters.

Zach caught this 11 foot 2 inch Hammerhead shark using only a Penn 9/0 and 80 lb test as his weapons. This fine young shark fishermen deserves accolades for stopping a freight train hammer using a 9/0 -something not many have not been able or lucky to accomplish.Catching an 11 foot plus hammer is not easy but try doing it with a smaller reel and you will see why Zach was sure glad he had the help of Eddie C(keysharker) and Steven (peewee)to make his dream catch a reality. To all involved we say "Congratulations on a fine catch". We look forward to seeing many great catches from this young but solid Miami based(Key Biscayne)shark fishing Team this year.

Zach ,his hammer ,his helpers and there story

QUOTE by Eddie C
"12 o'clock came around and we finally get a hit but it was on the 9/0, our smaller real with our smalles bait. At first thought i figured a little lemon that picked up our 9inch baby bonita. Man was i WRONG. this monster took us up and down the beach and nearly spooled us, we must have had about 50 yards left on the reel before Zack, the angler of the hour, finally got some line back. 45 minutes later we saw our first glimpse of our first hammer, 11ft 2, that distinctive large dorsal fin appeared. after a couple minutes of trying to get the beast to the shore we were finally able to measure, cut the leader, take a couple pics on soem friends iphones and release the shark. Biggest so far for bullbuster but we dont plan on stopping".
