Me, Colby, and Jimmy went Spearfishing in Government cut at 6 am this morning. Free diving 40 feet down the ledge to spear hog snappers and Mangroves. Just as the water started getting clear and the tide started slowing down, I go down for a dive, level off and coast the bottom, and 5 feet in front of me i see a 350 - 400 lb Bull Shark, headed right toward Jimmy Fuqua,and Colby who were carrying the bag full of fish... I surface and tell themm hey Guys huge bull and i swear on my mother im dead serious...That ended our diving for the day, but also lit a fire in me to fish big baits in and around Government Cut.
Till today the biggest shark i ever saw under water was a spinner on 10 street reef and a black tip that chased jimmy in to shore one day......

Suprise -- Suprise they are are there it's just the we and the pier are not.Wishing for the old days and hoping the Miami Beach commision would somehow gain a sense of history and rebuild the the south Beach pier that was originally built in the days when Al Capone vacationed down here.The year was 1924 (year built) and the the year was 1984 the year the corrupt mayor of Miami beach decided on his own without a commision vote to have the pier demolished.Sadly enough south Florida and it's crooked politicians have no respect for history and that is very evident when they decided to knock down the Orange Bowl last year.
How very sad.

They are gonna rebuild a fancier pier for the tourist visiting Miami Beach (inside the Inlet like the existing one) and without any thougt given to the fisherman.Again the allmighty buck wins out over the fishermans wishes.Four months ago (Picua)Luis and I met with the city architecture in charge of design and he said it was allready drawn up and approved but that we could make suggestions to the city commision but that it would cost too much to redesign it on the north side of the jetty like we were suggesting during the meeting.Corruption ,Greed and money are the food the food these Miami and Miami Beach goverments eat on a daily basis,,,,,,,they don't give a damm about the fisherman.
