Fishing the Marathon Jaycees tourny w the South Beach crew

Starting in the late 1970's the group of shark fisherman from South beach pier would come together to every summer to compete in the Marathon Jaycees shark tournament. in the Florida keys.Most of the guys were in there teens or early 20's, did not have much money but we had a burning desire to test our mettle against other shark fisherman.Rene de Dios the leader of the pack and self proclaimed #1 shark hunter of south Florida ; the type of maniac to go fishing in the middle of the night when no else wanted to go would find the way to get the whole bunch of us together to save up our money and make the trip down to Marathon to fish that tournament.
